Alot of it has to do with the terrible business climate here and thus see the decline this area has seen over the decades. It is one of a number of reasons i am strongly considering running for the city council.

I have so had it with the piling on of MI posters over at the other board. And to those who post here and jump in to pile on our crew to try and fit in is beyond words.

Oh and yeah that latest thread started by alek in OT is another one of his miserable troll attempts at the state of Michigan and it's posters. Stebo if you are reading this you need to wise up. That little troll crew will do nothing but bring you down. Seriously dude you need to chill. See below.

Thing is we have nobody to represent us there. Thus why nothing will ever change on that board. Hoosier is too buddy buddy with the likes of Alek etc. Not saying he does not like any of us either. Point is he wont lift a finger to put Alek in his place. Reasons why the boards biggest troll there who has never added much of anything to the discussions to any part of that forum remains. People have had issues with Trixie and Kush but i will say they have atleast added some value unlike Alek etc. One of the reasons i cannot get fully behind that forum and keep this going. The real trash over there needs to be taken out and it will never happen because of who is connected to who. I am sure that latest thread by Alek will do wonders for our regional forum there.

For this area i will say we are in recovery mode. Jobs are picking up fast. Housing is still a bit sluggish though. Still the future looks bright for this area. Meanwhile it seems all of our crap ( aka crime ) has been starting to move to Kalamazoo/elsewhere. I suspect that will pick up even more as the renewal project here ramps up. Some of blight is finally starting to be eradicated as a growing number of old and vacant houses etc are finally being bulldozed. I suspect that will only ramp up.

Thus why despite all my complaining i stay here. Yes it would be nice to live in a better spot for snow like the west side of Kalamazoo but yeah the future looks brighter for this area as far as job's etc goes. Plus there is some nice places ( outdoors etc ) to go in this city/area. I don't follow Kalamazoo as closely so not sure what their plans are.

What gives Battle Creek a nice little edge is location along the rail line ( rail traffic splits here for Lansing or Detroit to Chicago ) and I69/94.. i69 looks to be what will be the main artery between Mexico ( and points south ) and the bigger Canadian cities and with it crossing i94 and thus the main highway between Chicago and Detroit and se Canada around here it will give this area a nice advantage. Plus there is plenty of room for development. Just a matter of utilizing it and well now a few are starting to see the potential this area has. And yes the southern parts of i69 are starting to come along at a decent pace now especially in Texas.

Very sad news!

First time i got a real taste of Whitney was with this.. One hell of a voice!

Back then when that song came out they had these places on the boardwalk in OC, MD ( and elsewhere i suppose ) where you could go ( recording studios ) and and record yourself singing the song ( instead of the artist) and this girl i had dated did this one for me.
